Game Times and Penalties

HVHL 10U ONLY

• (3) Minute Warm Up
• 3 periods, 12 - minute stop time. NO OVERTIME
• 1 minute minor penalty, 3 minutes Major and Match, 6 minutes misconducts

HVHL 12U & 14U ONLY

• (3) Minute Warm Up
• 3 periods, 15 - minute stop time. NO OVERTIME
• 1.5 minutes minor penalty, 4 minutes Major and Match, 8 minutes misconducts.

HVHL 16U ONLY

• (3) Minute Warm Up
• 3 periods, 15 - minute stop time. NO OVERTIME
• 2 minutes minor penalty, 5 minutes Major and Match, 10 minutes misconducts.

Game Misconducts & Majors (refer to USA Hockey Rule 401-411)

• Game misconducts will be reported through referees to East Section President for distribution to organization Presidents; who are to coordinate with HVHL for reporting of suspension and length
• Players cannot be on the bench or in locker room while serving a game misconduct
• Players do not sign score sheet; however, player name must be crossed off scoresheet and suspension noted by coach
• A player receiving (3) majors in a season is subject to additional suspension by Section Discipline Coordinator
• A coach receiving (2) majors in a season is subject to additional suspension by Section Discipline Coordinator
• A team receiving (3) majors in a game, is subject to additional suspension by Section Discipline Coordinator
• A team receiving (12) penalties in a game, the coach is suspended for (1) game
• Suspensions must be served in the next game that was scheduled before the game that was played (does not matter if league or non-league).
• ALL Match Penalties must be reported within 24 hours and player is not to participate in ANY USA Hockey activity until a hearing is conducted
